EP Power Minerals’ UK subsidiary PML embarks on a fresh chapter under CEO Carl Platt

Carl Platt took up his new position as the CEO of our UK subsidiary Power Minerals Limited (PML) in September 2025. Under his leadership, the company will position itself as a principal materials provider for the UK cement and concrete industry – and a key enabler for sustainable construction.

PML’s $60m-plus beneficiation plant project at Drax power station in Yorkshire provides the launch pad for a new era, with the company moving from trading to manufacturing. And with significant further investment also being explored, the company aims to potentially widen its scope to the broader cementitious market, tapping into its international connections to enable sustainable concrete solutions.

Carl Platt, who began his career in the cement sector in 1993, said: “The new facility at Drax coming online in 2027 will place us in a significant position within the cementitious sector as a manufacturer and lay the foundation for long-term growth. EP Power Minerals provides the perfect framework for our future development. The Group has assets in UK, Germany and Benelux, giving us access to significant supply and shipping capabilities, and it operates across Europe, the Mediterranean, the USA, and parts of Asia. I want to leverage those group resources and reputation to refocus on the broader cementitious market, to enable sustainable concrete solutions for concrete producers.”

We have exciting plans ahead with our international team and are looking forward to the journey together.
